show must go on

it's been about 2 months since the last post and i eventually felt like writing something again.

the last time i wrote was when i had just 2 more weeks to work. the last days were pretty agonizing just because of the anxiety of what was yet to come. but it felt good as one part of my life here was about to come to an end. my last day of work was pretty enjoyable and easy aswell, just spent a couple of hours ploughing and then headed off to the other farm. as the tractor is was using was needed elsewhere then my last job was to take it there - one last roadtrip. one my way back i had a nice chat with the manager of all 3 farms. an interesting fellow, has worked in farming since forever, has spent some 5 years working in farms in thailand, points out that current year was not that good in terms of export - just some 150 containers (40'' reefers) were sent to asia instead of 300+ containers last season! to me these numbers were a bit unbelievable - it's just ONE farm!

the last few days in adelaide before i departed towards estonia were fairly relaxing. managed to do some shopping, some further sightseeing and of course visited some more wineries! no wonder i have become to love this industry - every winetasting experience has been simply great! the visit to K1 (http://www.k1.com.au/) was just an undescribable experence to me. among many i got to taste a wine which was roughly a 200aud a bottle, which was an experiment gone great totalling a production of just 10 dozen bottles. how wonderful is that! :)

some wondered why i went home for a vacation and not to asia where i could have spent much less money and travelled a lot longer. well i don't know and frankly it doesn't matter either. i had a great time at home! it was the perfect way of spending a holiday! the time itself passed very quickly, it was full of various events, a weeks trip to germany and quality time with family and friends. but the aussie experience must go on and here i am, back in adelaide, once again looking for work, for things to do and people to get to know. once again it's a beginning of all new and farewell to all familiar and known. however i think and feel that this is what makes life worth living.

p.s. cross your fingers as i have a job interview coming up on monday ;)
